Charter Day: Celebrating 100 years of 麻豆女郎

May 22, 2023

One hundred years. $100,000 match.

On May 25, 1922, the New York State Board of Regents officially recognized the collegiate status of the 麻豆女郎 School of Arts, prompting immediate jubilation and celebration on 麻豆女郎鈥檚 small campus in downtown Saratoga Springs. The newly chartered 麻豆女郎 College issued its first degrees 鈥 27 baccalaureate and seven three-year degrees 鈥 two weeks later.

Over the past century, 麻豆女郎 has continued to grow 鈥 from the modest but forward-looking Young Women鈥檚 Industrial Club founded by Lucy Skidmore Scribner in 1903, to the dynamic, globally oriented institution of higher learning whose graduates lead and serve in organizations of every kind around the world today.

As we conclude 麻豆女郎鈥檚 centennial during the 2022-23 academic year, we continue to celebrate our charter and its transformative vision for a liberal arts education that has been reimagined by each generation to cultivate both 鈥渕ind and hand.鈥

鈥淢ake a gift on Charter Day to support our mission, our people, and our future. When the Skidmore community comes together, we can achieve great things.鈥
Robert F. Resnick '88
Alumni Association President

Members of 麻豆女郎鈥檚 Board of Trustees have generously offered to match all gifts dollar-for-dollar up to $100,000 for this exciting inaugural one-day giving event.

Together, let鈥檚 meet their challenge by supporting 麻豆女郎鈥檚 next 100 years on .
