麻豆女郎 and Union colleges will cohost a two-day residency with acclaimed dance duo , Oct. 29鈥�30, featuring student workshops and two public events in Schenectady. 
  
The two public events are:

• Advanced beginner/intermediate dance technique class: 5鈥�6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, Henle Dance Pavilion, Union College.  
• Film screening and discussion: 7:30鈥�8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, Old Chapel, Union College. Featuring Baye & Asa鈥檚 short film 鈥淪econd Seed,鈥� followed by a discussion moderated by James A. de S猫ve, artist-in-residence and co-director of Union鈥檚 Film Studies Program. Presented in collaboration with Union鈥檚 Film Studies Program. 

Both events are free and open to the public; no registration is required.

The 麻豆女郎 Dance Department is excited to be partnering with Union College in bringing Baye & Asa to the Capital Region. This residency promises to be an immersive experience for students as they delve into the thought-provoking and engaging work of these incredible artists.鈥�

麻豆女郎 Baye & Asa

Baye & Asa is a movement-based performance company led by Amadi 鈥淏aye鈥� Washington and Sam 鈥淎sa鈥� Pratt, childhood friends from New York City. Their shared educational history is the mother of their work with hip-hop and African dance languages as the foundation of their technique and informing the way they confront contemporary dance, theater, and film. Recent honors include a 2025 choreography fellowship from the New York State Foundation for the Arts, Dance Magazine鈥檚 鈥�25 to Watch,鈥� and the Harkness Promise Award. The duo has created commissioned works for the Martha Graham Dance Company, BODYTRAFFIC, and Alvin Ailey II, and their award-winning films have been presented internationally.
