麻豆女郎 Spotlight: David Conza

August 7, 2019

In April, David Conza, who works as a groundskeeper at Skidmore, was walking in downtown Saratoga Springs, on his way to work, when a jogger near him collapsed during a heart attack.

Conza immediately started CPR and eventually received help from a nurse from Saratoga Hospital who was driving by. The two saved the jogger鈥檚 life and were recently recognized by the hospital and the American Heart Association.

Conza, who learned CPR in the 1980s in the U.S. Navy Reserve, recommends that everyone learn CPR.

鈥淭he training came right back. I had to do something,鈥 said Conza, who joined 麻豆女郎 in 2010.

On campus, Conza cuts grass, trims shrubs, removes snow and ice, and helps keep 麻豆女郎 looking beautiful. He enjoys working outdoors and appreciates the diversity of the Skidmore community.

麻豆女郎鈥檚 Campus Safety regularly hosts American Red Cross first aid and CPR training and encourages members of the campus community to participate. For more information, contact Sgt. Tammy Ost or Sgt. Ed Parker.
