Paul Arciero, professor of health and human physiological sciences, published a position stand titled, "International Society of Sports Nutrition Position Stand: Effects of essential amino acid supplementation on exercise and performance," in the . This position stand serves as the scientific foundation to athletes, dietitians, trainers, and other practitioners as to the benefits of supplemental essential amino acids (EAA) in both healthy and resistant (aging/clinical) populations. The paper was co-authored with Michael J. Ormsbee 鈥02, former visiting assistant professor of health and human physiological sciences.

Ryan Homsey, director of academic advising, composed original music for a feature documentary film, , which will world premiere during the festival this November. One work from the score, 鈥淢usic and Life Mingle,鈥 was performed in July by the Orlando Contemporary Chamber Orchestra.

Heather Hurst, professor of anthropology, directs the San Bartolo-Xultun Archaeological Project, which recently received the 鈥淜haled al-Assad" with special distinction as the people鈥檚 choice prize. San Bartolo鈥檚 7 Deer Inscription was selected among five discoveries worldwide for this distinction, which will be conferred in Salerno, Italy, this week. A video short on 鈥7 Deer鈥 created by Riley Mallory (鈥22), SBX documentarian, can be viewed .

Michael Janairo, manager of communications and strategic initiatives at the Tang Teaching Museum, presented at the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester, New York, on "Museums and Community: Exploring Opportunities for Shared Authority and Co-Creation" as part of a symposium, "."

Bernard Possidente, professor of biology, co-authored and presented a poster, "Assessing Genetic Variation for Effects of Lithium on Circadian Clock Period, Sleep Behavior, and Mortality in Fruit Flies," with Noah Fryou 鈥23 and Mingjia Li 鈥19 at the 2023 World Sleep Congress in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The oral presentation by Fryou won a New Investigator Award.
