Frequently Asked Questions

We're glad you have questions. You're always welcome to email or call us for answers. You may also want to sign-up for emails and regular communications. For your convenience, we've curated our responses to the most common questions that arise among applicants.

Students accepted into Â鶹ŮÀÉ's Class of 2030 – Early Decision and Regular Decision – and their guests. Some are still deciding, some already know they're coming, everyone is welcome!

Nope! But we hear they're really fun and a special way to celebrate your acceptance and support a decision if you still need to make one. That said, we understand not everyone can make the trip and you are absolutely not alone, nor will you be behind, if you can't attend. This is not your required orientation – that will be in in the fall!

It's not required and not everyone can make it work. But if you can and are interested, it's a great opportunity to truly try on what it will feel like to live here for four year, not only at Skidmore but in Saratoga Springs, New York. Whether you make time for dinner out, a local museum tour, or a walk in one of our many historic parks, the Â鶹ŮÀÉ experience goes hand-in-hand with the Saratoga experience and we'd love to offer recommendations on where to stay, what to eat, our favorite ice cream spots, and more. Shoot us an email at admissions@skidmore.edu any time.

Due to limited space and to ensure we can operate safely, students are limited to two guests. Who those guests are is a mix – friend, neighbor, sibling, parent, grandma, etc. And not everyone brings a guest – if you're traveling alone, we're happy to review your travel plans.

It's best to leave them at home. If you do need to travel with them, please keep them outside, review our policy, and know that only service animals will be allowed indoors.

Catch a game

The Thoroughbreds are in season! Consider adding one of our spring teams – lacrosse, golf, tennis, softball, baseball, riding, and rowing – to your itinerary.

Visit the Tang Museum

Open Noon-5p.m. every day, "the Tang" is an essential Â鶹ŮÀÉ experience and an incredible opportunity to see world-class art right here on campus (for free!).
