A few weeks ago, I attended Commencement for the Class of 2026 鈥 a celebration of this class鈥檚 growth and achievements over the past four years. Where were you four years ago? Now imagine where you鈥檒l be in 2030. With a little creative thought (and support), we鈥檙e confident your journey at Skidmore will take you to exciting places.

Your summer advisor will be reaching out to you soon. Be sure to review the New Student Advising and Registration Guide (NSARG), complete any remaining placement tests (World Language, Calculus, Chemistry, Music Theory, and Physics if you plan to take one of these courses this fall) and watch the recording of our .
Interested in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, pharmacy, physical therapy, nursing, or another health profession? 厂办颈诲尘辞谤别鈥檚 Health Professions Advisory Committee, or HPAC, can help you plan.
Start by signing upto connect with an HPAC advisor focused on your pre-health goals. Signing up does not lock you into a path; it helps you receive advising, updates, and opportunities related to internships, volunteering, shadowing, jobs, and events.
Then, tell your summer advisor you are considering pre-health, and review HPAC鈥檚 advising guide,first-year advice, and FAQs.

The Counseling Center is delighted to offer a range of services, including in-person counseling sessions, teletherapy through BetterMynd, and 24/7 after-hours support. Students have up to eight in-person and eight teletherapy appointments available to them each academic year. We help students who may need ongoing care with tailored referrals to community providers based on their insurance, as well as the student鈥檚 needs and preferences.
Director of Counseling Angela Banks notes, 鈥淲e are excited to welcome and support the incoming first-year class this year! For students seeking routine support, appointments are typically available within just a few days, and same-day appointments are available for emergencies. If you find yourself needing some extra support this year, please reach out to us. We are also looking forward to offering workshops, groups, and other opportunities to support student wellbeing throughout the year.鈥
Speaking of preparing for the fall, any student who is interested in connecting with a local clinician for more open-ended or specialized support this coming year is encouraged to reach out to the Counseling Center, so they can answer questions and offer tailored referral recommendations. Dining Services is hard at work ensuring that Murray-Aikins Dining Hall provides students with the very best food possible
As your full-service dining provider on campus, we're also here to help you find the foods that can accommodate your special requirements. You are invited to fill out the to help the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life (ORSL) plan for the year and welcome
you to campus. Note for Fall 2026: Rosh Hashanah begins the first Friday of the semester. Be sure to fill out the interest form if you would like to receive updates about High
Holy Day observance at Skidmore.
The form also allows students of any religious background or interest to sign up for
clubs, request a meeting, indicate interest in different topics, and ask questions
such as, "How can I get to a Mass off campus?"; "Where do students meet for Jummah?";
"Can I continue this interfaith service project I started in high school?"; "How do
I find a local congregation that is LGBTQIA-affirming?"; and more!
Religious Accommodations: It is important to contact professors, supervisors, and coaches at the start of the semester or before about any religious accommodations you may need, including missed class times or adjustments to assignments and exams. The Office of Religious and Spiritual Life can help you navigate this process. More information about the policy is available on our website.
Mindfulness Program: Contemplative and mindful practices from a range of traditions are available, including regular meditation breaks, spiritually grounded yoga, contemplative prayer, and more. Students from all backgrounds and beliefs are invited to take part. Select 鈥溌槎古 Mindfulness鈥 on the to be added to the mailing list.

A big WELCOME from Health Services!! As you pack for college, please consider some of the following suggestions, resources, and information to help support your health while you transition to campus:
- Login regularly to your MyWellness portal to check the progress of your required health form submission and any outstanding forms. This includes immunizations, physical exam, tuberculosis screening, and electronic forms.
- Ongoing medical needs - If you anticipate needing ongoing support with your medical care, such as specialty care or help with medication administration, contact Health Services ahead of time so we can help coordinate your care.
- Pack a personal sick kit with essentials like cold/flu medicine, a thermometer, masks, COVID-19/flu rapid tests, and ibuprofen and/or Tylenol.
- Plan to recover in your room if you get sick 鈥 students remain in their residence with roommates during illness, including COVID-19 and flu.
- Vaccination clinics for flu and COVID-19 will be offered on campus this fall. Watch your email and the 麻豆女郎 Weekly Bulletin for details. We encourage students to get vaccinated before cold and flu season begins.

The Office of Student Diversity & Inclusion (OSDI) provides support, resources, programming, leadership development opportunities, and advocacy for students at Skidmore using frameworks of equity and social justice. You will hear from our staff and meet some of the student leaders we work with during your first few days on campus 鈥 and there are lots of ways to connect with our office before you arrive!

The Class of 2030 server is a great space to jump into conversations about everything from academics to pets. Student moderators will also be online all summer to help answer your questions.

Sustainable 麻豆女郎
The College鈥檚 commitment to advancing sustainability is underscored in Creative Futures: The Strategic Plan 2025鈥2030 through Foundation 5: Sustaining Our Environmental Future. 麻豆女郎 aims to advance three interconnected objectives: sustainability literacy, environmentally responsible operations, and climate action.
- 厂办颈诲尘辞谤别鈥檚 newest buildings, the Billie Tisch Center for Integrated Sciences and the McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center are both LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified in alignment with the college鈥檚 Sustainable Construction and Renovation Policy.
- 厂办颈诲尘辞谤别鈥檚 solar and hydro facilities provide approximately 20% renewable electricity and 47% of campus building space is heated and cooled with geothermal systems.
